Flickr's Uploader allows users to automatically backup all their photos and videos from the computer's hard drive to their Flickr account. All the photos were uploaded as private unless the user chose to share them via the site, and Flickr also helpfully removed any duplicates it found. In March 2016 Flickr announced that the automatic uploader tool is no longer free. Flickr free account holders will now have to pay $6 a month or $50 a year to use automatic Flickr Uploadr tool.
